Many years ago, as a 16 year old, Heather flew over Dartmoor in a light aircraft. Intrigued by the vast numbers of little circles on the ground that could be seen from the air, she later learnt that they were hut circles, and she wanted to walk the Moor and discover its archaeology for herself. Over the years she has tramped all over Dartmoor with family and friends and been enthralled by the mysterious stone rows and circles, burial mounds and standing stones. Heather captures the mystery and beauty of this magnificent landscape in her pastel and watercolour artwork.

“I became fascinated by the archaeology of the Moor and when I discovered the standing stones and stone circles, I was hooked for life.”
